Ad specs and
creative guide.
Every format takes one kind of file, and Vugo® Platform checks it the moment you upload. Here is what each format needs, how to design for people in and around moving cars, and what happens before your ad reaches the road.
A short video,
captions on.
Screens play your video on the rear-seat screen, in a continuous loop while the car is out working. The player moves on when a video ends, so a still image never plays: export your design as a video.
- File
- MP4 or QuickTime (MOV) video
- Size
- 16:9 landscape, 1920 × 1080 (1080p) or 1280 × 720 (720p)
- Length
- Up to 60 seconds
- Sound
- Optional — say it on screen too, with captions or on-screen text
- QR code
- Generated from your landing URL, with UTM tags so scans show up in your own analytics
- Versions
- Add a second version at upload to split-test the two; once the campaign is live, test two to four approved versions
What the upload check says
- Refused: anything that isn’t a video, or a video over 60 seconds.
- Warned, still accepted: a shape other than 16:9 is cropped to fill the screen; smaller than 720p is upscaled and looks soft this close to the viewer.
One rectangle,
the same on every car.
- Finished size
- 20 in wide × 18 in high, actual size
- Artboard
- 22 × 20 in: a 1-inch bleed on every side, trimmed off — run backgrounds to the edge
- Safe area
- Type and logos at least ¼ inch inside the trim
- File
- Print PDF under 8 MB
- Images
- 150 DPI or better at print size (3300 × 3000 px for the full 22 × 20 in artboard)
- Lead time
- Start date at least 7 days after you submit
- On the car
- Centered on the flat door panel, clear of handles, locks, badges and body creases
One master layout,
fitted to every car.
Design once on the Vugo templates at 1:10 scale — 1 inch on the template is 10 inches on the car — and the wrap shop fits your artwork to each make and model.
- Side panels
- Template 22 × 11 in; safe box 64 × 21 in on the car, inside a 100 × 57 in bleed
- Rear window
- Template 12 × 9 in; safe box 35 × 14 in, inside a 75 × 40 in bleed, on perforated window film
- Safe area
- Logos, text, URLs and QR codes inside each safe box; fill the whole bleed box
- File
- PDF (AI and EPS accepted), with vector type and logos
- Images
- 1,500 DPI on the 1:10 template, which is 150 DPI on the car
- Lead time
- Start date at least 14 days after you submit
What the shop never covers
- The third brake light, lamps, mirrors, the grille and the license plate.
- The rear camera, sensors and the wiper sweep on the rear glass.
- Door handles, locks, the fuel door and the front side windows.
Designed for
your vehicles.
Full wraps (every body panel but the roof), 270° wraps and other partial wraps are custom: Vugo and the wrap shop set the spec for the cars on your campaign, and quote it with the flight. Bring your brand files and Vugo’s design service can build the artwork with you.
Made to be read
on the move.
One message
A wrap is seen for seconds from the sidewalk or the next lane. One line, one visual and your name read better than a list.
Big type, strong contrast
Large letters and high contrast survive distance, glare and motion. Keep fine print off the car.
Hold each frame
On screens, keep each message up long enough to read, and say it on screen: captions carry the message, with or without sound.
A next step that works
Point the QR code or URL at a page built for phones — a menu, a booking, a sign-up — not your home page.
Vector for type and logos
Outline or embed fonts, and keep logos vector, so nothing softens or swaps when the shop prints.
Hide the guides
The Vugo templates ship with guide and reference-car layers on. Hide them before you export, or they print.
Checked before
it reaches the road.
Checked on upload
Vugo Platform checks each file against its format as you add it: a tick meets the spec, a warning still uploads, a cross can’t be used, and a question mark means it couldn’t be measured — never a pass.
Reviewed in about a day
Every ad is reviewed against Vugo’s Content Guidelines, usually within one business day. You’ll hear if anything needs a change.
Print files only to print
PNG and JPEG files are kept as previews and never sent to a shop. Every print file is checked by Vugo before it’s printed.
Templates in the platform
The creative step offers the Tiles and Standard Wrap templates (SVG and print PDF) and a door placement guide.
Or design in Canva
Connect Canva and it opens a design at the exact size for a screen video or Tiles, then brings it back to your campaign. Standard Wraps use the Vugo templates.
Swap creative any time
Upload a new version to a running screen campaign; it goes through review and reaches the cars on their next update.
